Chicago Craft Beer Week Kick-off, Thursday, May 19, 2016

VeryMadCow_thumbIn honor of the 2016 Chicago Craft Beer Week kick-off on Thursday, May 19th we will present a special line up of draft beer featuring several of the barrels we’ve been squirreling away for special occasions including the following:

Bell’s Honey Hearted, Kalamazoo, MI, 6oz, 16.7% – A very rare and special beer. Prior to dry-hopping, Bell’s takes their revered IPA, Two Hearted, adds honey and performs a secondary fermentation using champagne yeast. The result is then aged in Traverse City Whiskey barrels with orange and lemon zest. Glass 5

2014 Founders Old Curmudgeon, Grand Rapids, MI, 6oz, 9.8% – A smooth, rich and malty old ale brewed with molasses and aged with oak. Glass 5

Founders Backwoods Bastard, Grand Rapids, MI, 6oz, 11.6% – Scotch ale aged in oak bourbon barrels. Glass 5

Revolution Very Mad Cow, Chicago, IL, 6oz, 9.7% – A dark and creamy milk stout aged in Woodford Reserve bourbon barrels. Glass 6.50

Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Scotch Ale, Amherst, WI, 6oz, 10% – A scotch ale aged in oak bourbon barrels. Glass 5
