Join us to enjoy a new beer from Penrose Brewing of Geneva, IL. A style hybrid, the Oaked IPA is a Belgian-style farmhouse IPA dry hopped with Chinook, Lemondrop and Centennial hops and fermented with medium toast American oak. It has a crisp, dry finish, an abv of 7.1% and while supplies last when you order the beer you get to keep the special Penrose glassware in which it will be served. In Chicago fashion, we suggest you arrive early and drink often to obtain an entire set of the beautiful snifters. Don’t forget to bring your appetite!!! Hope to see you here!!!
Grapefruit Sculpin is the latest take on the award winning west coast IPA from Ballast Point Brewing of San Diego, CA. Some would say that Ballast Point Sculpin is the mother of all west coast IPA’s and shouldn’t be tampered with but we agree that the tart freshness of grapefruit perfectly complements the IPA’s citrus hop character. Make no mistake, although real grapefruit juice is added during the brewing process, this is not a radler-style beer. With an ABV of 7% Grapefruit Sculpin has the same ABV as the original Sculpin. We previously were able to get our hands on a 1/6 barrel barrel of this gem and it went fast. We have now been graced with a full half barrel so it only made sense to feature it in this week’s “What’s on Tap” Thursday night series. Stop in to enjoy and don’t forget to bring your appetite too!!
For those of you not aware, Schlafly is a highly acclaimed St. Louis Brewery that arrived in Chicago just a few months ago. This will be our first offering from the brewery, a highly rated American IPA brewed with a blend of Amarillo, Centennial and Simcoe hops with an ABV of 7.2%. The blend imparts an aroma of citrus and fruit and a complimentary bitter hop bite. Stop in to give it a try and bring your appetite as Chef Julia and her kitchen crew will be ready to go!!!
So what’s going on Saturday, March 14th, the official St. Patty’s day celebration in Chicago? We’ll be serving up Chef Julia’s corned beef & cabbage and we’ll have a great line-up of beer including the following Irish/red ales:
Begyle Dicey Riley;
Great Lakes Conway’s Irish Ale;
Six Point Global Warmer; &
Urban Legend Wail of the Banshee.
Hope you can join in!!!!!!!
