2016 Couldn’t Get a Ticket to FoBaB Barrel Aged Beer Event, Kicks off Thursday, Nov 10th.

barrel aged beer picIts that time of year when we roll out the barrels of barrel aged beer for our annual Couldn’t Get a Ticket to FoBaB Barrel Aged Beer event.  This is the event that always takes place on the Thursday prior to FoBaB, the annual Festival of Barrel and Wood Aged Beer put on by the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild.  The Event kicks-off on Thursday but will continue into the weekend and following weeks as supplies last as this year we will have 20+ barrels along with some rare vintage bottles. Starting Line-up:
Allagash James Beam, Portland Maine, 6oz, 10.4% – Belgian-style strong ale aged in bourbon barrels and infused with cold press coffee post fermentation. Glass 6

 Breckenridge 471 IPA, Denver, CO, 6oz, 10.5% – An imperial IPA aged in Wild Turkey or Buffalo Trace barrels and dry hopped with Simcoe hops. Glass 6

 Central Waters Brewer’s Reserve Bourbon Barrel Scotch Ale, Amherst, WI, 6oz, 9.5% – Scotch Ale aged in oak bourbon barrels. Glass 5

 Des Chutes Black Butte XXVIII, Bend, OR, 6oz, 11.6% – An imperial barrel aged anniversary version of their flagship Black Butte Porter 50% aged 12 months in bourbon and scotch barrels with cocoa, vanilla beans and sweet orange peel. Glass 6

 Founders 2015 Backwoods Bastard, Grand Rapids, MI, 6oz, 11.6% – A Scotch ale aged in oak bourbon barrels. Glass 6

 Flying Dog Gonzo Imperial Porter, Frederick, MD, 6oz, 9.2% – An imperial porter aged in oak whiskey barrels for 6 months. Glass 6

 Goose Island Halia, Chicago, IL, 6oz, 7.5% – A Belgian-style farmhouse ale aged in wine barrels with whole peaches. Glass 6.50

 Goose Island Hombre Secreto with Mango, Chicago, IL, 6oz, 8.9% – Belgian-style saison aged in Lanazul tequila barrels with Brettanomyces and Mango. Glass 5
